Johanna and her husband searched for three years before finding the perfect house. They were only two feet down the driveway when Johanna had that eureka moment and knew they had succeeded. Eventually they moved with their young family full time to this special home, which they have owned for over 20 years. Their three children grew up sailing after school and became avid sailors and boaters.

Along with local knowledge, Johanna brings her attention to detail and an artistic eye to the real estate business. She began her career as a commercial interior designer and owned a floral design business. She is a life-long artist and paints landscapes and florals from her garden.

A graduate from UVA in Architectural History, and VCU in interior design, Johanna worked as a commercial designer and in her own floral design business before painting full time.

Johanna studied painting in college and continued to study at The Virginia Museum Studio School. She has painted for over 30 years. 

Johanna grew up in Richmond, but spent most of her summers in the British Isles with family. The gardens, rocky beaches, and high pastures of The Isle of Man sparked her love for nature and the sea. 

Johanna and her husband moved to the Northern Neck in 2009 and have three grown children. The Bay and her garden provide constant inspiration.
